When you were confused about which was bigger, 'large egg' or 'special large egg' when buying eggs at the mart, that inconvenience will now disappear. From now on, it will be displayed like clothing sizes, '2XL·XL·L·M·S'.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 21st that it "will gazette and immediately enforce an amendment to the 'Livestock Act Enforcement Decree' to change the weight standard name from 'large egg·special large egg·large egg·medium egg·small egg' to '2XL·XL·L·M·S' so that consumers can easily recognize the size of eggs."
The weight standards for the new names are ▷2XL 68g or more ▷XL 60g or more~68g less than ▷L 52g or more~60g less than ▷M 44g or more~52g less than ▷S less than 44g. The existing weight standards remain the same. The egg weight standard system was introduced in 1974, and the current standards have been applied since 2002.
