Deputy Prime Minister Bae Kyung-hoon and Minister of Science and Technology announced that the government-level service "AI for All" will be launched at the end of this year to provide all citizens with the convenience and benefits of artificial intelligence (AI). AI for All is scheduled to play the role of a "cyber personal secretary" by going beyond simply answering user questions to automatically creating complex administrative and office documents.
Deputy Prime Minister Bae held a press briefing on the 29th of last month at Seoul Central Post Office in Jung-gu, Seoul on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Lee Jae-myung administration's launch, saying "Currently, users can obtain necessary information by asking AI questions or giving commands one by one, but in the future, AI agents (provided through AI for All) will automatically provide services to citizens."
AI for All is a flagship project of the Lee Jae-myung administration. It is a project that allows individual citizens to enter their IDs on smartphones or personal computers to call up and use a cyber personal secretary, or AI agent. Organizations such as LG AI Research Institute, SKT, Upstage, and Motif Technologies that are challenging the "independent AI foundation model" (representative national AI) project are developing it with government support. Two companies among them are scheduled to be finally selected in the future.
Deputy Prime Minister Bae said regarding AI for All, "It will be serviced from the end of this year." He added, "All citizens will be able to use AI as easily and conveniently as they use Korean," and "They will be able to work, learn, and lead their daily lives with AI agents."
