AMD announced on June 1st that it is strengthening its high-performance gaming market offensive by extending AM5 platform support until 2029 and unveiling a slew of next-generation processors and graphics cards at Computex 2026.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the desktop platform socket AM4, AMD launched the 'AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition' processor. This product is composed of a Cooler Master Ice Pad thermal interface material and packaging and will be released on June 25th for $349. Alongside this, the 'AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D' processor for the AM5 platform was also unveiled. This processor boasts 8 cores, a total of 104 megabytes (MB) of cache, and a maximum boost speed of 4.5 gigahertz (GHz), and will be released on July 16th for $329. With the launch of the Ryzen 7 7700X3D, AMD has set its policy to extend the support period for the AM5 platform until 2029.
The graphics card lineup and memory technology are also expanding. AMD is launching the 'AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE' graphics card based on the latest RDNA 4 architecture globally. This product features 48 compute units, 12 gigabytes (GB) of memory, a maximum clock speed of 2.79 GHz, and provides an average performance that is 21% faster than competitors in 1440p resolution games. The Radeon RX 9070 GRE will be released on June 2nd through partners for $549.
