Oura, a pioneer in smart rings, has announced the Oura Ring 5. This is an unprecedented new product launch that shortened the usual product announcement cycle by about a year.
With improved scratch resistance, enhanced measurement sensors, and a design that is 40% thinner and smaller than its predecessor, Oura claims to have created the world's smallest smart ring, almost unnoticeable when worn.
The product will be available in gold, deep rose, stealth, brushed silver, black, and silver finishes.
It is said to be released in Korea this summer, and since the Korean language update of the Oura Ring app was already implemented last spring before the announcement of the Oura Ring, it was possible to predict its entry into the Korean market.
Oura is actively defending its market share through patent lawsuits with competitors. It has secured a sales ban on Ultrahuman in the US and a licensing agreement with Ringconn. Currently, it is engaged in a patent lawsuit with Samsung regarding smart rings.
