The Personal Information Protection Commission announced on the 11th that it will impose administrative fines totaling 624.681 billion won and civil fines of 16.8 million won on Coupang due to personal information leaks and illegal collection and use of personal information. This is the largest sanctions in history for violations of the Personal Information Protection Act. Previously, the largest administrative fine imposed by the Personal Information Protection Commission was 134.8 billion won for last year's SK Telecom incident.
