Noctua showcased the NT-CP1, a carbon nanotube-based thermal pad developed and manufactured by Carbice, at the Computex 2026 booth. Carbice sells this product under the name Carbice IP90 Nanopad. This thermal pad provides superior performance compared to thermal paste and boasts a lifespan nearly infinite. Carbice and Noctua have signed a strategic partnership to introduce vertically aligned carbon nanotube thermal pads to the DIY PC market. While existing thermal paste deteriorates in performance over time, the Carbice pad guarantees long-term maintenance-free cooling performance that actually improves over time. Noctua plans to exclusively distribute this pad starting with the AMD Ryzen version in September 2026. Noctua has also applied IP90 to its own cooling solutions, conducted extensive tests, and released its own performance figures.
