Due to the implementation of the government's pesticide approval system, the sale of unapproved insecticides will be completely prohibited, and with the inconsistency in approval and return schedules by manufacturers, confusion is growing at sales sites such as pharmacies.
According to the Korea Pharmaceutical Association and the Ministry of Climate Environment and Energy on the 26th, starting from July 1st, pesticides that have not received official government approval will not be able to be distributed or sold in pharmacies, large marts, and online malls.
This measure is based on the 'Act on Safety Management of Household Chemical Products and Pesticides' enacted after the humidifier disinfectant incident in 2011. The government has been operating a grace period allowing manufacturing and import until December 31st last year, and distribution and sales until June 30th this year, while converting the existing registration system to an approval system.
