Hello
Continental Grand Stone 25c Clincher - I rode it for 3 years and 3000km, but I got tired of it and it was time for a change
I switched to a Schwalbe 28c Clincher.
After riding about 100km, here's what I noticed
1. The ride feel is smooth
-> My body weight is 73kg. I used to run 25c at 85~90psi, but I run 28c at 70psi. I think this is a big reason
It filters out quite a bit of shock and vibration from speed bumps and rough road surfaces that would normally hit the bike and body.
2. It has good elasticity and pushes well for sustained speed afterward
-> With 25c, maintaining speeds above 33km required a lot of effort. I don't know about watts or anything, just that maintaining speed was tough.
-> With 28c on the same course in similar conditions, maintaining a sustained speed of 33km or more is significantly easier physically.
As for other things like cornering and such, I'm not sure about the differences, but since the tire is wider and thicker, it should naturally be more stable.
Some people say the takeoff is sluggish and uphills are harder, but I didn't feel that big of a difference in that regard
