Indonesia and Canada, both G20 members, have concluded a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) following three years of negotiations. The agreement is scheduled to take effect in 2026 and aims to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries. Notably, Indonesia plans to pursue critical mineral development and sustainable management with Canada's support, leveraging its abundant deposits of tin, copper, bauxite, and nickel. Last year, bilateral trade between the two countries reached 3.4 billion dollars, with Canada exporting agricultural products and fertilizers, while Indonesia exports machinery, apparel, and footwear.
