You shouldn't believe that there is a lot of brake pad left.

As you can see in the pictures above, the brake pad that was placed on top is significantly more worn. That's the inner pad.

(As you know) there are two brake pads per wheel, one inside and one outside, with a rotor in the middle. When you press the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure pushes a piston in the brake caliper to press the inner pad against the rotor, creating friction and braking. Even if the outer pad is called "chala," it will eventually come into contact with the rotor. Therefore, the inner pad generally wears out more.

If you go to a repair shop and ask them to check how much brake pad you have left, they will only tell you about the outer pad. This is because the outer pad can be seen without removing the tire, while the inner pad requires removing the wheel and opening the caliper housing to see accurately.

So don't believe it when they say your brake pads have plenty left and that you can drive more.

These pads have been driven for 55,000 km. I use the brakes much less frequently than in Korea, so they lasted this long. In Korea, especially in cities where you constantly apply and release the brakes, they wear out faster.

If you've driven about 40,000 km... then the front pads have been driven for 50,000 km... then the rear pads... even if they say there's some life left, just replace them. Brake pads themselves are inexpensive. Labor costs are expensive. But, you already took it apart???
