On the 21st, during a mine clearing operation on the western front of the DMZ, a suspected landmine explosion occurred, resulting in injuries to soldiers. As a result, the military and the UN Command initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident and began preparations for a field investigation by deploying troops to the DMZ on the 26th. Approximately 20 people participated in the field investigation, including members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Task Force (TF), the UN Military Armistice Commission, investigative agencies, and operational personnel. They conducted evaluations of the safety of the movement route, inspections of surveillance and communication status, etc. The military is preparing for a thorough joint field investigation with the UN Command while ensuring the safety of its soldiers and plans to objectively explain the cause of the accident to the public.
