Tomorrow, around 50 thousand workers from West Java, Banten, and DKI Jakarta will hold a large-scale demonstration in Jakarta to convey their aspirations regarding the Manpower Protection Bill. This peaceful action was initiated by the Coalition of Indonesian Labor Struggle (KBPBI) and has no political agenda. The worker delegation will meet with the Head of the Presidential Staff to submit a petition of aspirations to President Prabowo Subianto. This demonstration is a last resort after four months of diplomacy have yielded no results. KBPBI demands 11 things related to labor, including wages, outsourcing, and social security.
