Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, once became addicted to watching TikTok even though he initially only did so for research and development of an AI application called Sora. He spent hours watching short videos until he finally decided to delete the app from his phone. Even so, Altman still likes short video content and limits its duration before bedtime. Altman realizes the dangers of short video addiction, especially for children, because recommendation algorithms and ease of access can make users keep scrolling without time limits. Therefore, he will not allow his children to use platforms like TikTok.
