Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, said that Iran would continue to close the Strait of Hormuz if its proposed peace conditions were not met. Iran is demanding an end to the war, the unfreezing of assets, the lifting of oil export sanctions, and recognition of control over the Strait of Hormuz as conditions for a ceasefire. Ghalibaf emphasized that war and negotiations should proceed simultaneously, arguing that decisive victory must be achieved followed by rational negotiations to reach a successful outcome. He criticized positions that insist solely on war or only pursue negotiations.
