The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Indonesian government for cooperation on halal product certification. This is a measure to support entry into Indonesia, the world's largest halal market, and includes cooperation in technology, human resources, infrastructure, research and development, information sharing, and institutional and policy exchanges. Indonesia will make halal certification mandatory for food and cosmetics starting next month, and this cooperation is expected to contribute to the expansion of K-food and K-beauty exports. The MFDS plans to support domestic companies' halal certification and entry into the international market through future cooperation with major Islamic countries.
