President Lee Jae-myung met with Bruno Phibe, Speaker of the French National Assembly, during his state visit to France and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Marking the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France this year, President Lee conveyed a message expressing his hope that the governments and parliaments of both countries will work together to usher in a new era of 140 years. The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and National Security Office Director Wi Seong-rak on the Korean side, and Bruno Fisch, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Sabrina Sebaihi, President of the Korea-France Parliamentary Friendship Association, on the French side. President Lee expressed his gratitude for receiving macarons as a gift from Speaker Phibe.
