According to the results of the first school violence survey in 2026, one out of three elementary, middle, and high school students experienced school violence. This is the highest figure since the survey began in 2013, and the proportion of physical violence and group bullying has increased. Verbal abuse was the most common type of victimization, followed by group bullying, physical violence, and cyberbullying. The Ministry of Education plans to promote school violence prevention and countermeasures based on the results of this survey, and promised to prepare measures such as improving the system for handling cases centered on relationship restoration and raising awareness about new types of school violence.
