Eight airports in Indonesia were temporarily closed due to the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau, which spewed volcanic ash. The closure affected approximately 150,000 passengers and 467 flights, both domestic and international. The Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, stated that the closure was carried out for flight safety. Airlines were asked to inform passengers about schedule changes, cancellations, or flight diversions and to guarantee their rights. Passengers affected are urged not to come to the airport and monitor the latest information from the airline regarding the status of their flights.
