Many people have had a hard time here, so I'll write an explanation from the locals.
1. Kimcheon City Hall expected about 10,000 visitors, which is a lot considering that Kimcheon has a population of 150,000 and this was the first time for the Gimbab Festival. They couldn't predict how many people would come. But 100,000 people came. It was the first time in Kimcheon.
2. The Kimcheon Direct Temple Samyeongdae Park is a place that Kimcheon has carefully created, and the location itself is excellent. However, navigation often guided drivers through mountain roads. It's a route to take if you're heading towards the Gyeongbu Expressway.
3. During the event, they prepared 10,000 gimbabs. In fact, there were concerns that it might be too much, but because 100,000 people came, they ran out in the morning.
4. The same was true for kiosks. They usually had enough for events like the Plum Festival and Grape Festival, but with over 100,000 visitors, there wasn't enough time to buy or rent them.
5. Seeing this great success, Kimcheon City Hall was surprised and also realized that it worked well. They are considering holding a full-fledged festival next time. It will be better next year.
6. In fact, Kimcheon is not famous for its seaweed, rice, or ham. Grapes and plums are famous. So they didn't expect much, but it was a huge success.
7. Those who visited Kimcheon, please visit Yeonha Pond, Hwanggeum Market, Jiri Black Pig Street, and the restaurant village near Kimcheon High School. To be honest, gimbab is the same everywhere, but Odang Gimbab is unique.
Finally, a local resident wrote an apology to those who had unpleasant experiences in Kimcheon.
