Heavy rains have caused devastating floods on Indonesia's popular tourist island of Bali, resulting in 14 deaths and the evacuation of over 500 people. Since the heavy downpours began on the 9th, nine cities on Bali have been inundated, with buildings collapsing and landslides occurring, causing significant damage. The floods have paralyzed Denpasar, a renowned tourist destination, and rescue teams have been deployed to search for two missing persons. Unusually, these floods occurred during the dry season. Climate change is lengthening the rainy season in Southeast Asia and increasing the frequency of heavy rainfall in the region.
