South Korea's agricultural and food exports reached a record high of $8.2 billion by July 2023. Ramen exports led the way with $1.52 billion, a 21.8% increase, while exports of fresh produce such as grapes, pears, and strawberries also showed growth. The government plans to pursue strategies in the second half of the year to achieve its annual export target of $16 billion, including expanding grape exports, diversifying markets for fresh produce, and strengthening processed food exports. It also intends to strengthen marketing efforts in major markets such as the United States and China, and to explore new markets such as Vietnam and Saudi Arabia.
