A massive flood that hit the Bagmati region of central northern Nepal has left 19 Sherpa people missing. Unable to find their bodies, the bereaved families held a joint funeral at a Kathmandu monastery according to Nepali Buddhist tradition. The missing include local leaders and mountain guides, and the bereaved families expressed grief while praying for the peace of their souls. This flood has resulted in a total of 1,130 deaths and 4,462 missing persons, including Nepal and Tibet in China.
