Android remains the most popular smartphone operating system in the world with a market share of 75% in the second quarter of 2026. Despite its dominance, Android's market share fell by 4% compared to the previous year due to increasingly fierce competition from iOS and HarmonyOS. iOS took second place with a market share of 20%, driven by sales of the iPhone 17 series and iPhone 17e. Huawei's HarmonyOS ranked third with a market share of 5%. In China, HarmonyOS showed rapid growth with a market share reaching 24%, while Android experienced a decline despite remaining dominant.
