What is the Indonesian Heritage Society?
Started in 1970 as the 'Ganesa Volunteer Group' by Mrs. Zainal Abidin and Mrs. Lusien, the wife of the Norwegian Consul General, IHS was created to promote Indonesian art and cultural heritage worldwide. Since its establishment as a foundation (Yayasan) in 1995, hundreds of volunteers from over 30 countries have been conducting various activities such as museum tours, cultural lectures, and explorations.
A Special Community for Koreans - Korean Section
There is also a separate gathering for Koreans residing in Jakarta.
Programs are conducted in Korean, so you can enjoy Indonesian culture more deeply without language barriers!
Main Activity Guide
1. Museum Tour
- Every third Saturday of the month at 9:30 AM
- Korean language explanation at the Indonesian National Museum
- Apply on a first-come, first-served basis through Heritage Korean band
2. Guide Training Program
- Systematic education for those who want to work as museum guides
- Eligible to work as an official guide upon completion
3. Exploration Program (Explorer)
- A time to explore and share hidden gems in Jakarta and its surroundings
