As of July 2026, exports from all 16 metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide increased for the first time in five years. This is mainly due to the increase in semiconductor exports, with Jeju recording a high growth rate of 280.3% thanks to semiconductor exports. Gyeonggi, Chungnam, and Chungbuk also showed significant growth in semiconductor exports. Interestingly, exports of other items besides semiconductors have also increased in all local governments. This shows that the export growth trend is spreading throughout the region.
