Nvidia Confirms Major AAA Game Support Ahead of RTX Spark Notebook Launch

Ahead of the launch of notebooks based on RTX Spark, Nvidia is showcasing the gaming performance of its premium mobile AI workstation chip. As we always emphasize when discussing Nvidia RTX Spark, this chip is not directly targeting gamers, as notebooks equipped with dedicated GPUs are likely to offer better value for money. It will be difficult to assess the true value of Nvidia RTX Spark notebooks as gaming hardware until we see the final benchmarks.
However, what we've seen from this chip so far has been impressive. In the first real-time demonstration of Nvidia RTX Spark, it smoothly ran Alan Wake 2 at 1440p resolution with full path tracing enabled. While DLSS 4.5 and/or multi-frame generation technology was used to achieve this result, it's still an impressive performance for a thin and lightweight Windows notebook. Nvidia later uploaded a preview video of RTX Spark running various games at 1440p with full RTX visuals enabled, which is attached below.
While there are no frames-per-second (FPS) figures for all these videos, the visuals shown look promising. Like AMD Ryzen AI Halo and other Strix Halo-based devices, this hardware is capable of running modern games with good performance in a very ultra-thin form factor, despite not being designed primarily for gaming.
According to Nvidia's official announcement, more gaming performance details for Nvidia RTX Spark are expected to be revealed during the Gamescom conference this week. Ahead of this conference, Nvidia announced partnerships with Electronic Arts, Embark Studios, and Ubisoft, in addition to dozens of developers and publishers who have already promised support for Nvidia RTX Spark. Other confirmed publishers include Krafton, NetEase, Riot Games, and Xbox.
This support goes beyond simply ensuring games run on Nvidia's notebook hardware. Nvidia is directly collaborating with Electronic Arts to ensure EA's Javelin anti-cheat works on Nvidia RTX Spark notebooks, and has stated that it is working closely with developers to ensure specific games run smoothly on the hardware. Games expected to "run smoothly" include Arc Raiders, The Finals, Apex Legends, EA Sports F1 25, and Anno 117: Pax Romana.
Stephan Jankowski, Executive Producer of Ubisoft's Anno 117, said, "Our team creates games so you can see entire zones, wide viewing angles, and thousands of details all at once. It's genuinely impressive to see RTX Spark maintain this level of detail on a single chip."
While Nvidia RTX Spark doesn't explicitly aim at gaming, Nvidia appears to be making efforts to ensure it can still be an excellent gaming platform. With the help of Nvidia DLSS 4.5 ray reconstruction and multi-frame generation technology, RTX Spark is expected to deliver an excellent gaming experience despite its primary purpose as an AI platform.
