On January 2023, supporters protesting the issuance of an arrest warrant for former President Yoon Suk-yeol broke into the Seoul Western District Court, vandalized the building, and assaulted police officers. As a result of this incident, the courthouse suffered significant damage, and court officials experienced psychological trauma. The Supreme Court convicted 18 individuals involved in the incident. The Court Administration Office filed a civil lawsuit seeking compensation for physical damages amounting to 1,175,899,770 won and delayed damages.
