A woman in her 60s, Ms. A, was arrested for allegedly stealing 1.65 million won from the backpack of a Myanmar international student at an underground shopping mall in Bucheon, Incheon. Ms. A has a history of similar crimes, having committed shoplifting 43 times using a similar method since 2004, and has 24 prior convictions. Police confirmed through CCTV analysis that she was the same suspect previously apprehended and arrested her. Ms. A confessed that she committed the crime because "she was struggling financially." Police recovered 1.55 million won of the stolen money and returned it to the victim.
