I made a golf score management app (Taptap Golf) and registered it on the App Store after developing it for iOS.
When I tried to register it on the Play Store for Android, something seemed strange.
They said I had to register an Android smartphone. 'That's weird. There was no such thing as iPhone...'
Still, since there are quite a few Android phones in use, I tried to register them, but they said that the OS was too low and all registrations were impossible.
Holding back tears, I bought another Galaxy A07 (180,000 won), the cheapest one. 'How many apps do I have to sell to make this price...' While thinking that it would be done now, they said that individual developers had to conduct a private test when registering the app on the Play Store. Ha............ x2
Private testing is a stage where 12 people test the app for 14 days before release and reflect the testers' feedback to improve quality.
I heard somewhere that it was a measure to prevent things like Chinese criminal organizations or phishing apps... They said that this system started a few years ago, excluding companies and only targeting individuals. For a moment, I thought, 'Can't I get 12 people from China?'
For someone like me who is shy and finds it hard to ask others for favors, this process was quite difficult.
I went around chat rooms, watching people's reactions, asking for favors, and even being ignored... I finally managed to complete the private test with a lot of difficulty. That bad memory is the reason why I created this platform.
