The magnitude 7.7 earthquake that hit Flores Island in Indonesia has killed 100 people and displaced 180,000. More than 6,400 aftershocks have occurred since the earthquake, damaging houses and public facilities. The Indonesian government is providing relief supplies to the affected areas, and aftershocks are expected to continue for the next 3 to 4 weeks. Flores Island has also been hit by powerful earthquakes and tsunamis in the past.
