The Bank of Korea has appointed Min-soo Kwon (56) as the new Senior Deputy Governor. Kwon served as a senior deputy governor at the Bank of Korea and was responsible for foreign exchange market stabilization measures, among other things. He is known internationally as "Global Tong" for his work with international organizations such as the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). He graduated from Whimoon High School and Yonsei University's School of Business and entered the Bank of Korea. He earned a master's degree in business administration from Yale University in the United States. The Bank of Korea expects Kwon to contribute to representing Korea's position and strengthening its status in the international financial community. Kwon's term will run until August 20, 2029, and he will begin attending the Monetary Policy Committee on the 27th.
