The People Power Party Ethics Committee imposed a "suspension of party membership" penalty on four lawmakers: Jo Kyung-tae, Jin Jong-o, Kwon Young-jin, and Seo Bum-soo. Jo Kyung-tae and Jin Jong-o each received suspensions of 2 years and 6 months and 2 years, respectively, making it impossible for them to run in the next general election. Kwon Young-jin received a suspension of 1 year and 6 months, while Seo Bum-soo received a suspension of 10 months. They were accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior during the process of electing the opposition party's National Assembly vice chairman, causing controversy during protests against the allocation of standing committees in the latter half of the term, and making inappropriate remarks at a National Assembly forum that invited victims of the "Busan Kickback" incident. The possibility of internal party conflicts reigniting over whether the disciplinary action is appropriate remains.
