Financial authorities have raised the target growth rate for household loans this year from the existing 1.5% to 3.0%. Accordingly, they have started allocating loan targets by bank and plan to expand loan supply for group loans and young and low-credit borrowers. The total increase is expected to be around 26 trillion to 30 trillion won, some of which will be allocated to financial companies. Financial authorities have stated that they will supply loans mainly to real demanders such as housing suppliers, young people, and low-credit borrowers. Banks that exceeded their existing management targets in the first half are expected to be penalized, but the penalty is not expected to be significant.
