A 7.7 magnitude earthquake shook Flores, NTT on Saturday (8/15/2026) morning and caused damage to buildings and disruptions to telecommunications services in several areas. Mobile operators such as Telkomsel, Indosat, and XL Smart are working to restore affected networks. Damage to infrastructure due to the earthquake and power supply constraints are the main factors causing service disruptions. Telkomsel has activated additional generators to address power supply issues while Indosat is coordinating with relevant parties to expedite handling. XL Smart reported that approximately 91 of their BTS were affected by the earthquake.
