I like to walk.
When I first came to Jakarta, I walked around the mall, but it got boring after a month or two.
So sometimes I explore Jakarta and the surrounding areas by walking. I'll share some good places to walk sometime.
This is a place where you can see the real Jakarta.
Centered around this area are large markets, alleys, old temples, and historical mansions.

● Archives Building Gajah Mada.
This mansion was home to the Dutch governor-general in the 18th century, and later served as a government office and even a school. It is now used as a museum.

● Soekarno Museum
There is a museum inside the museum grounds where traces of Indonesia's first president, 'Sukarno,' remain. Since he was a central figure in Indonesian independence, his records and relics are on display.
● Candranaya Building, a traditional house from the 19th century of a wealthy Chinese family with 14 wives and 27 children.
● Gereja Santa Maria de Fatima, its name is Santa Maria de Fatima Church, but it has a unique Chinese-style design inside and out. I sat there for a while. It was originally a mansion where wealthy Chinese lived, and later converted into a church.
● The next one is Wihara Dharma Jaya Buddhist temple. It is said to be one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Jakarta.

It has not only Buddha statues but also a unique atmosphere mixed with Taoism, which is different from ordinary temples.
Although it is old, it still felt like a 'living space' where many people pray.
After looking around the historical sites and entering the market alley,
I came across an arcade that I like as I walked along. There are many good restaurants here.
● China Town Petak 6
This place maintains the atmosphere of the old Chinatown while being modernized and renovated into a food court-like space.

There are many restaurants and stalls, big and small.
If you come on weekends or holidays, popular places have long lines and there may not be a place to sit.
The atmosphere where tradition and modernity blend in an old building makes it exotic and perfect for finishing the Chinatown tour.
It's fun because it has a different atmosphere than Jakarta malls or restaurants I often go to. Of course, it can be hot on hot days..
You have to get a good seat. But even that is part of what makes me feel at home ^^
I've never gotten sick from eating here.
If you don't like the heat or small restaurants, go to Coventown Glodok on the second floor,
or... there is this building nearby, an old restaurant. The name is something tea house..

There isn't much time left to walk outside..
If you find any hidden charming places in Jakarta, please share them with me~
