People Power Party leader Dong-hyuk Jang is pushing for a reshuffle of the party cooperative committee chairs, key positions in local organizations across the country, by advocating for a party-centered political theory. Jang said he would replace committee chairs who did not actively participate in the local elections and appoint people with whom party members could fight together. The selection of the new committee chairs will follow procedures such as a vote by all party members or a vote by responsible party members according to the party constitution and rules, and incumbent lawmakers are also likely to be included in the competition. In addition, Jang dismissed calls for his resignation after the June 3 local election defeat as "a painful stage" and clearly stated that he would not seek re-election before the end of his term or hold an extraordinary national convention.
