Kim Yeon-kyung received the inaugural AVC Contribution Award from the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). AVC awarded this honor in recognition of Kim Yeon-kyung's achievements during her playing career and her contributions to the development of Asian volleyball. In her acceptance speech, Kim Yeon-kyung expressed gratitude to her fans and promised to do her best for the next generation of junior players. Even after retirement, she continues various activities such as director of the KYK Foundation, advisor to Heungkuk Life Insurance, and co-owner of a professional volleyball league in the United States.
