Gyeongsangnam-do is facing a serious shortage of agricultural water due to continuous drought. The average reservoir level in 18 cities and counties in Gyeongnam is 35%, which is less than half of the normal year, and Miryang City has entered the 'serious' stage with 25.9%. Changwon City is also likely to transition to a serious stage soon. Due to heat waves and droughts, natural evaporation is also increasing, further exacerbating the problem of declining reservoir levels. The Gyeongsangnam-do Province and Korea Rural Community Corporation are preparing countermeasures such as using Nakdong River water or supplying river water and groundwater.
