The Indonesian government has determined that March 1, 2025 marks the beginning of 1 Ramadan 1446 H. This decision was made following the sighting of the new moon in Aceh, Indonesia's westernmost region. Consequently, Muslims throughout Indonesia can begin fasting from March 1. However, Bangka Belitung was unable to participate in the determination due to cloudy conditions that hindered the observation of the new moon. The Bangka Belitung government expressed hope that this decision would be the best choice for the Muslim community.
