On July 30th, an unidentified unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was detected in the border area of northern Gyeonggi Province. As a precautionary measure, evacuation text messages were sent to village heads north of the Civilian Access Control Line in Cheorwon. Fortunately, the UAV was later identified as a US military drone undergoing training. However, authorities initially struggled to determine whether it belonged to our forces or North Korean forces. This incident raises the possibility that the US military's UAV training plan may not have been properly communicated to our side. While residents of the Cheorwon area were relieved to learn that the UAV was not from North Korea, they expressed concerns about the process by which training situations are relayed to real-world scenarios.
