The special prosecutor will operate for up to 170 days and will investigate issues such as ballot shortages, poor election management, suspicions of statistical manipulation, and hiring irregularities. However, the ruling and opposition parties have different interpretations of the scope of the investigation. While the People Power Party argues that past elections can be included, the Democratic Party argues that it should be limited to the June 3 local elections. Conflicts are also expected in the process of recommending a special prosecutor.
