The Korean government pointed out that Japan did not properly inform the UNESCO World Heritage Committee about the history of forced labor of Koreans when Japan registered Meiji-era industrial revolution heritage sites. Korea criticized that the exhibition at the Tokyo Industrial Heritage Information Center, established by Japan, does not properly reflect the facts of forced labor and urged improvement. Japan stated its position that it had complied with the recommendations of the World Heritage Committee and replied that it would continue dialogue with relevant countries. At this World Heritage Committee meeting, it was evaluated that there was some progress in reflecting "the whole history" related to the registration of Sado Mine, but it was not enough.
