To enhance public trust in police investigations, the 'Police Investigation Reform Committee for Restoring Public Trust' has been launched. The committee will analyze cases of inadequate investigations such as the Jang Yoon-gi case, actively gather opinions from victims, and plan to reflect the voices of victims of everyday crimes such as sexual violence and jeonse fraud. The committee aims to identify structural problems within the police organization, develop preventive measures and institutional improvement plans, and ultimately drive real change through recommendations. It will be active until the launch of the Major Crime Investigation Agency in October, aiming to prepare recommendations and review implementation methods.
