President Lee Jae-myung is visiting Brazil as a state guest and will hold a summit meeting with President Lula. This visit served as an opportunity to inspect the C-390 transport aircraft purchased from Brazil and strengthen defense cooperation between Korea and Brazil. The president will tour Brazil, Chile, and Argentina, aiming to expand economic exchanges and build resource security partnerships. In particular, discussions on modernizing the existing Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Chile are expected to take place. Through this visit to three South American countries, Korea will expand its diplomatic horizons in the Global South and strengthen economic and security cooperation.
