Kaesang Pangarep, Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), announced his candidacy for the Legislative Election (Pileg) in 2029. He plans to run in Electoral District V Central Java which includes Solo, Boyolali, Klaten, and Sukoharjo. The announcement was made by Kaesang during a visit to the PSI Solo Regional Coordination Meeting. On this occasion, he also emphasized the importance of PSI cadre solidarity for achieving victory in the 2029 General Election. Electoral District V Central Java is known as the electoral district of the Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani who received the most votes in the previous election.
