Jung Chungsung, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate for party leader, refuted the "clear and transparent Daejeon" argument and emphasized his position as one with President Lee Jae-myung. He pointed out that it was inappropriate to demand the processing of the bill because the Prime Minister's Office spent 1.7 billion won on preparing the prosecution reform bill but did not disclose its contents. He also stated that attacks related to the Shincheonji Church suspicion were directed at the party and would be strongly punished. Jung promised to push for even stronger reforms if re-elected and said he would focus solely on his duties as party leader.
