As a heat wave continues nationwide, concerns are growing over damage from heatstroke and livestock deaths. On the 25th, a severe heat warning was issued in some areas of North Gyeongsang Province, South Gyeongsang Province, and Jeollanam-do, with the highest perceived temperature expected to exceed 38 degrees Celsius. According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a total of 1,182 cases, including five deaths from heatstroke, have occurred since May this year. Livestock damage due to the heat wave is also serious, with more than 250,000 pigs and poultry dying. Local governments are operating heat shelters, installing shade structures, and other activities to reduce the heat, while checking on the safety of vulnerable groups.
