The government has decided to exclude child abuse offenders and those sentenced to prison during military service from the benefits of national pension credits. This is intended to strengthen social justice by excluding criminals who go against public sentiment from the support target. Childbirth credits will not be applied to parents who have abused children, and those sentenced to prison during military service will not be eligible for military credit benefits. This amendment is expected to be implemented in 2027 through a revision of the National Pension Act by the end of this year. The government plans to secure the moral legitimacy of the public pension system and fairly reorganize the blind spots of the welfare system through this institutional improvement.
