A magnitude 4.7 earthquake occurred in the Kota Sukabumi region of West Java province, Indonesia. The earthquake originated at a depth of 14 kilometers beneath the Indian Ocean seafloor and was detected with intensity levels of II to III in several nearby areas. According to Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake was a shallow-focus earthquake caused by subduction zone activity, and there is no possibility of tsunami generation. No building damage has been reported so far, and no aftershock activity has been observed.
