Figure skater Gonayeon took first place in the women's singles short program at the 2026 ISU Junior Grand Prix selection competition. Gonayeon successfully performed a triple flip-triple toe loop combination, double axel, triple lutz and others, scoring 67.48 points. Second place was Jiyu Heo (66.57 points), and third place was Jungyul Hwang (61.72 points). In men's singles, Choi Habin took first place with 79.03 points, and in ice dance, the Yu Reina-Chan Hanrick pair took the lead with 54.60 points. The final standings will be determined on the 19th by combining the results of the free skating and free dance, and the Korea Skating Union plans to select athletes for the ISU Junior Grand Prix Championships based on the results of this competition.
